Our 80th Anniversary year has so far been a great success .
We held our Triangle Players Drama Group "80th Anniversary Open Day" on Saturday 5th July
There were displays of costumes , props , equipment & much more ... including two performances of a sketch written by Barrie Davies .
We even had a magnificent cake !
On 3rd July we were featured on BBC Radio Berkshire . Kirsten O'Brien interviewed our Chairman Lewis Gilbert & Jan Charlton about the group & the anniversary celebrations.
In addition our group was given coverage by Reading Today Online
Film Debut - well almost !!!
This time last year we were approached by Thursday Productions Ltd , looking for 5-10 people for an am dram performance of Pirates of Penzance. Filming was to take place at Englefield Estate in August 2024.
We spent a day at a costume house in London being fitted for our costumes & then a day at Englefield filming our short sequence & singing - "I am the very model of a modern major general" .
We were delighted to meet Celia Imrie who shares our scene.
Yes , you've guessed ... we were extras in the "THURSDAY MURDER CLUB" ...
Sadly our sequence didn't make the final cut & we are all very disappointed but who knows ..... maybe next time !
Next stop is our Autumn play "Take Away the Lady" - watch out for release of tickets
We welcome new members to come & join us.
You may want to tread the boards of help our backstage /front of house crew ... a warm welcome awaits you !
